Is your toddler ready to “go to school” like the big kids? Want to try new crafts without destroying your kitchen? Ready to meet other local families of toddlers & preschoolers? This unique program is designed to provide a “first school” experience and lay the groundwork for preschool. Children 18-36 months attend with a parent or guardian and enjoy circle time, songs, stories, crafts and play!
Preschool
The preschooler's day can be called structured play. Through their use of toys, games and songs, the children will be focused on a specific topic, such as fire safety. They may learn and practice "Stop, Drop & Roll", put out "fires" in the water table and build a puzzle of a fire truck all in preparation for a field trip to the fire station. During Discovery Time the kids plan their time and make their own choices for play. Expect to visit our large outdoor play area on all but the very wettest days and finish up with the ever popular good bye song.
Pre-Kindergarten
Pre-K students join with the Preschool group two days a week and have the responsibility to be good role models for the younger children. With a focus on Kindergarten preparedness, Pre-K kids receive more time to work on number and letter concepts with additional writing and listening. They are given more opportunities to be independent by putting on their own coats and bike helmets.
